Repairing Or Replacing Worn Parts Your Schedule:

• Work 4 days on, 4 days off, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM OR
• Monday through Friday, 2nd 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm or 3rd shift 11:00 to 6:30 am

What You'll Do:

• Diagnose and repair mechanical systems to ensure smooth production line operations.
• Operate and maintain industrial canmaking machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Use precision measuring tools like calipers and micrometers to work within tolerances of .0010.
• Monitor product quality and production efficiency to ensure smooth operation.
• Utilize mechanical manuals and diagrams to learn and troubleshoot new components.
• Operate forklifts safely and efficiently when needed.
• Contribute improvement ideas for the work area, safety, quality, cost control, and productivity.

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalency.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.

• Perform various clean-up tasks, AQL sampling and can sorting activities.
• Complete all necessary paperwork for proper documentation.
• Relief of packaging operator, palletizer operator and or U-Shape operator for breaks or call offs as required.
• Be proficient in performing palletizer operator and U-shape operator job functions.
• Keep work area clean and orderly.
• Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge Skills and Abilities
• Ability to follow written or verbal instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with supervision and other line personnel.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Experience / Education

• High School Diploma or GED Working Conditions
• Shift work and overtime is required, as needed.
• The employee is regularly exposed to a loud environment, moving mechanical parts/machinery and chemicals.
• Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Physical Requirements ?
• Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
• Must be able to push and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand, reach, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and a variety of other physical functions on a frequent basis.
• Must be able to follow safety procedures
• Must be able to quickly and accurately read small print computer labels.
• Must be able to work at a consistently fast pace.

Position Summary:

The forklift operator will support production, and shipping/receiving operations by operating different types of forklifts such as G-5 Royal T-250, Hester Spacesaver, CAT T-50, and sit-down.

Essential Job Functions:

• Load trucks with finished sheet metal
• Load cut sheet material onto platforms for dispatch through the manufacturing lines
• Prepare finished goods for transfer to other departments
• Remove coil loads and other materials from trucks as they are delivered
• Transport unfinished and finished product throughout the plant and supply the production lines with raw materials
• Empty scrap tubs of metal waste
• Assist in taking inventory and prepare orders for shipment as needed

Job Requirements:

• Ability to demonstrate forklift driving experience and pass the certification test if not already certified

Experience/Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a manufacturing facility
• 6 months-2 years of forklift driving work experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to kneel, stoop, crawl, squat, and stand for extended period, while running machinery up to 12 hours
• Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds
