—This position is primarily in person and offers hybrid work capabilities.
General Overview:
Performs professional-level human resources work in one or more functional areas. This role encompasses multiple areas of HR, including compliance, employee relations, and recruitment. This person should consistently demonstrate Integrity, Gratitude, Excellence, and Leadership.
Responsibilities:
May conduct new hire Orientation; May provide senior management with project status updates; Understands and communicates the Company's EAP (Employee Assistance Program); Become and remain DOT-certified to be a drug test collector; Attends recruitment events on behalf of the Company; May serve as a backup for employee terminations; Conducts employee investigations; Addresses employee concerns and may mediate disputes while promoting a positive workplace culture; Analyzes and provides advice to supervisors and managers on methods and approaches to resolve employee work problems; Knowledge of employment laws (FMLA, FLSA, ADA, ADEA, PWFA, etc.); Develops, updates, and implements HR policies to support business objectives while ensuring legal compliance; Ability to effectively work in both unionized and non-unionized environments; Ability to utilize an HRIS for data management (BambooHR); Maintains confidentiality; Creates and maintains positive working relationships with others; Communicates professionally orally and in writing; Know and adhere to all Company policies and procedures; Other duties as assigned. This list is non-exhaustive. Job responsibilities may vary based on operational needs and the instructions of the employee's supervisor. Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred. Four (4) years of office experience, with at least three (3) years in Human Resources, is highly preferred. Employee Relations experience is preferred. Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening. (George J. Igel & Co., Inc. is a BWC Drug-Free Workplace and tests for marijuana) Must be willing to sign a confidentiality agreement upon hire. Must maintain an MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) that meets the Company's eligibility.
