$30-35/hr firm Flexible Schedule Company vehicle and tools provided As a Field Service Representative, you will play a critical role in providing operations and maintenance expertise on water treatment systems for the client . This position involves working with advanced technologies, including: Wastewater treatment Media filtration Softening Reverse osmosis (RO) Ion exchange (IX) De-oxygenation Electro-deionization Ultrafiltration (UF) Key Characteristics To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate: Strong mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills. Ability to conduct maintenance and calibration activities. Confidence in consulting with customer management and operational teams. Commitment to ensuring contract compliance for volume and quality specifications. Expertise in operating, monitoring, and optimizing equipment performance. Duties & Responsibilities Operate, monitor, and optimize equipment performance. Perform preventive and critical maintenance and calibration activities. Conduct analytical testing, including pH, COD, DO, Ammonia, ATP, TSS, 30-minute settling tests, and Phosphorus, as well as site-specific testing requirements. Review laboratory data and adjust processes accordingly. Monitor, adjust, and maintain chemical injection systems. Maintain inventory of spare parts and adequate supply of chemicals and replacement parts. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control systems, such as valves, air compressors, ejectors, process pumps, blowers, and instrumentation. Create and maintain detailed site paperwork and technical summaries for customers. Collaborate with customer management and operations teams to ensure seamless service delivery. Ensure compliance with contract specifications for volume and quality. Interpret data, maintain records, and make critical decisions. Perform other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required Skills:
Knowledge of basic wastewater or water treatment systems. Proficiency in basic computer skills and Google Suite (or equivalent). Strong verbal and written English communication skills. Familiarity with preventative maintenance for pumps, bearings, blowers, and general rotating equipment.
Preferred Skills:
Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Science, Engineering (STEM), or a technical certificate in Instrumentation. Experience working with wastewater treatment technologies. Possession of a TCEQ Class C Wastewater Operator's License or higher. Basic knowledge of PLC programming and water treatment technologies.
Education & Experience Required:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent international certification. 2+ years of experience in service/maintenance or an equivalent industrial environment. Valid driver's license.
Preferred:
Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in STEM or technical certifications in related fields. Working Conditions Primarily outdoor work in an industrial environment. Exposure to industrial hazards, including: Beta particle radiation (e.g., Ni 63 radiation source). Chemicals, solvents, fumes, odors, and toxic waste. Electrical instrumentation, dust, and other industrial elements. Position includes hybrid PLC responsibilities in Chicago, with a focus on candidates with strong electrical instrumentation backgrounds and a willingness to travel.
