Virginia ABC is currently seeking applicants for the Human Resources (HR) Support Specialist role. The role is the first point of contact for the HR Division and responds to all general questions or concerns. This role is primarily responsible for responding to employee requests for information related to all areas of Human Resources. The Human Resources Support Specialist provides administrative and clerical support to Benefits, Compensation, Employee Relations, Employee Experience, and Talent Acquisition staff as well as the Learning and Development teams.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Provides administrative support and expertise as directed for all functions of HR, including but not limited to Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, Employee Engagement, Compensation, HR Policy, HR Compliance, HR Administration, HRIS, Learning and Development, Safety, and Benefits. Maintains physical and electronic personnel files. Supports travel, training and reimbursement programs. Assists with the following administrative process including but not limited to travel requests, training requests, offer letters, and background checks. Supports the offboarding and onboarding processes. Responds to verifications of employment and subpoenas. Inputs and reviews employee related data in HR systems. Responds to employee inquires and refers as appropriate to subject matter experts. Partners with HR Generalists to provide guidance to employees. Assists with compliance of record retention policies and procedures. Assists with the I-9 process for new hires. Assists as needed with HR compliance-related processes Minimum Qualifications Human Resources experience in a fast-paced office environment High School diploma, High school diploma equivalent, or four years of related Human Resources experience Preferred Qualifications 2-3 years of administrative support in a fast-paced Human Resources office environment Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or other related fields We offer: Excellent work/life balance Paid Time Off (PTO) earned every two weeks worked and 14 paid holidays Affordable healthcare with employer contributions Virginia Retirement System (VRS) benefits College Tuition Reimbursement program Virginia ABC employees are covered under the Commonwealth's benefits package and VRS.
