5+ years IC&E experience including calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of plant instrumentation, control systems, and electrical distribution equipment. Prior work in a combined cycle power plant and familiarity with GE 7FA or 7HA combustion turbines. Experience with GE Mark VIe control systems and Allen-Bradley PLCs.
Job Summary:
PIC Group is seeking an experienced Instrumentation, Controls & Electrical (IC&E) Technician for a combined cycle power plant in NJ. The IC&E Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and electrical systems. This position plays a key role in supporting safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations while assisting with maintenance planning, outage activities, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical systems and instrumentation. Perform maintenance on Distributed Control Systems (DCS), PLCs, and related components. Maintain and update instrumentation calibration records and support facility calibration programs. Support both control room and field operations, as needed. Document maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment modifications accurately. Assist with preventive maintenance programs, budgeting, and SOP development. Support outage planning and execution, including coordination with vendors and contractors.
Job Requirements:
Strong Strong working knowledge of power plant instrumentation, control systems, and electrical distribution. Experience troubleshooting and maintaining PLCs, DCS, and electrical systems up to 4,160V. Familiar with LOTO procedures, arc flash safety standards, and hazardous energy control. Capable of reading and interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk, reach, climb, stoop, and lift up to 75 pounds. Work in confined spaces, heights, and extreme temperatures as required in a power plant. Must wear and properly use PPE, including arc flash gear, gloves, and safety glasses. Education /
Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $55-$60.
