ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB's New York City office is seeking an experienced IT Services Specialist to join our Corporate Information Technology team. This is not just another faceless IT role. You will be a part of a larger IT team spread across the regions, but what sets this role apart is the relationships you will build with employees in the offices you support. Whether it's walking up to a coworker's office/cube or shooting them a call or IM, you will be the go-to person for all things tech. This is an exciting opportunity for a well-organized individual who is deeply interested in technology as a career and possesses the ability and desire to learn new things on the job. You will get to lead and own your office's technology needs. This would be the right role for someone who loves traveling, being the local IT partner and likes to keep up with cool new technology on the horizon. This position is 100% on-site based in our Manhattan office, with occasional travel to our Hauppauge, NY, Manasquan, NJ and Newark, NJ offices. This role is critical to making sure our hybrid business runs smoothly. If you are service-minded and looking to further your career in technology, this may be just what you've been looking for. Responsibilities Proactively assist VHB employees with the use of technology Configure and deploy PCs to staff Provide hardware and software support to all staff Identify trends in incoming helpdesk tickets and triage appropriately Provide ad hoc training associated with new commercial or custom applications Assist other IT staff with engaging projects Order equipment, assign licenses, install software Assist with setting up technology for conference rooms and office-wide, region-wide or company-wide meetings Skills and Attributes Strong customer service skills Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Team-oriented with capability to work independently Self-motivated Excellent attention to detail Organizational and planning skills Interest in learning new technologies Ability to prioritize and respond to inquiries in a timely and friendly manner Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in Information Technology with strong PC knowledge and interest in technology High school diploma or GED Working knowledge of computer software and hardware Working knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 Strong skills with Microsoft Office 365 Requires travel between offices on a regular basis Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Special consideration given to candidates with civil engineering software experience (Civil 3D, Microstation, OpenRoads Designer, ProjectWise, ACC, etc) The base salary range for this position is $61,000-$76,000 This offer is determined based on a number of job-related factors including internal comparators, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities and geographic location.
