Position:
The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire an Employment Analyst in our Human Resources Division at our Administrative Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The successful candidate will assist with the coordination of the sworn applicant hiring process by coordinating job announcements in PageUp; processing applications; helping with all phases of the pre-employment process; preparing personnel files; processing hiring letters and orientation paperwork; prepare statistical reports; identify ways to improve business processes; to maintain the Apprenticeship Program and the Pathway to Trooper Program; to respond to inquiries; and work with the sworn Recruitment Unit by attending career fairs to promote the position of Trooper and vacant civilian positions. Minimum Qualifications Working knowledge of human resource management, with a concentration in employment; state and federal employment laws; and of general office procedures and practices. Skill in the use of computers and using Microsoft Office applications; in entering and retrieving data in human resources databases; and in maintaining both electronic and hard copy filing systems. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret policies and procedures; to process, review and screen employment applications; to coordinate applicant re-employment phases; to analyze, collect and report data; to communicate effectively both orally and writing in English; to prioritize work; to document workflow processes; to produce and maintain reports to reflect current recruitment statuses and other data; to use automated systems; to work independently and as a member of a team; to coach, mentor and train others; to collaborate and provide guidance to managers and employees on human resources issues; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, supervisors, employees, and with others externally in the course of work. Progressively responsible human resources training and experience required, preferably in talent acquisition and recruitment and selection. High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
