Job Description

MECHANIC
1ST SHIFT $23.00-$25.00 TO START. [Potential for raises based on performance] Responsible for repair and maintenance of all vehicles and equipment such as Tow Motors, Forklifts, Bobcats, Dozers and Company Trucks. Experience with diesel (a plus) and gasoline engines, both electronic and non-electronic; transmissions, manual and automatic as well as electronic; vehicle suspensions; braking systems, air and mechanical as well as ABS systems and hydraulics.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
  • Diagnoses, rebuilds and repairs vehicles and equipment.
  • Performs inspections and preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
  • Communicates with personnel from other departments concerning maintenance repairs and scheduling of repairs.
  • Assures that all equipment used for servicing and repairs conforms to OSHA standards.
  • REQUIREMENTS
     
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Mechanic certification is preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. A Class "A" OR "B' CDL is a PLUS.
  • Must have 3-5 years' experience as a mechanic, diesel engine experience A PLUS.
Mechanic certification is
PREFERRED.
  • Basic Electrical troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of the principles of hydraulics, as they pertain to pumps, valves and fluid flow.
  • Have sufficient physical ability to work in a variety of positions, some of which may be awkward and tiring, to accomplish repairs under all weather conditions.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions.
