Overview:

The Key Area Operator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of workers within designated production lines or departments, ensuring the achievement of production goals. This role involves proactively suggesting improvements in process flow, working conditions, and equipment utilization to enhance the efficiency of the designated production area and its workforce. The ideal candidate possesses strong problem-solving skills, excels in dynamic manufacturing environments, and has a proven track record in optimizing operational processes. Description/Essential Job Functions Safely sets up machinery at the shift's outset for a swift start. Instruct employees on best practices based on the production schedule. Completes necessary paperwork, including count and product mix sheets. Evaluate and report on team members' performance. Analyzes and resolves work problems, providing assistance to workers when needed. Organizes employees during start-up, shutdown, and downtime situations. Enforces GMP and safety rules and regulations. Notifies Supervisor, Maintenance, and/or QA of malfunctions or production issues. Ensure finished products meet or exceed all regulatory, industry, and customer requirements for food safety and quality. Maintain all GFSI, HACCP, and food defense systems. Requirements/Other Skills/Abilities Preferably possesses previous food manufacturing experience. Demonstrates previous leadership experience in meeting production goals. Exhibits strong leadership qualities with effective communication skills in either Spanish or English; bilingual proficiency is preferred. Displays a strong work ethic, openness to constructive criticism, and a collaborative spirit. Adaptable to working in uncontrolled temperature environments ranging from -10 to 35 degrees. Properly uses personal protective equipment (PPE), including hair nets, gloves, company-provided uniform, and slip-resistant shoes. Attends Food Safety and Personnel Training, passing required exams and quizzes. Holds a high school degree or GED; a certificate from college or technical training is preferred.
