  • Pay rate starting at $29.00 per hour Education/Experience Requirements - Payroll and Accounts Receivable Specialist
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related major preferred
  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required
  • Minimum three years' experience in payroll required. General accounting, accounts receivable, or related role preferred.
  • Experience with Workday payroll is a plus.
  • Must know payroll administration and labor laws, including knowledge of federal and state regulations.
  • Knowledge of Canadian payroll laws highly preferred.
  • Strong mathematical skills, in addition to knowledge of accounting principles, are required.
  • Strong computer and internet skills; software experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge/experience with SAP is preferred.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, good follow-up and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment required.
  • Knowledge of timekeeping software a plus.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize job duties in importance to meet job requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in English. Position Responsibilities - Payroll and Accounts Receivable Specialist
  • Perform all aspects of payroll, ensuring accurate and timely preparation, input, analysis, and processing of bi-weekly multi-state payroll data and ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws for the United States and Canada.
  • Maintain internal payroll controls, ensuring proper procedures, policies, and rules are applied to payroll activities.
  • Know all internal policies and procedures and ensure they are adhered to regarding all payroll and personnel matters.
  • Communicate actively with Accounting, HR, and other teams to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing.
  • Maintain control of payroll records and personnel-related matters with strict confidentiality regarding all sensitive information.
  • Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits, and tax procedures to recommend and implement changes leading to best practices operations.
  • Process, track, and deduct all garnishments and other special payroll deductions.
  • Strong technical knowledge of payroll.
  • Quarterly payroll tax review and adjustments.
  • Perform various journal entries and account reconciliations and provide general ledger support.
  • Investigates payroll tax issues, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Maintains an effective record system.
  • Prepares and reconciles payroll and benefits records from the payroll system and related general ledger accounts for employees.
  • Audits the annual W-2 wage reports.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timely distribution of W-2s by demonstrating a working knowledge of relevant payroll tax rules and regulations.
  • Perform ad hoc payroll-related research and analysis.
  • Payroll and time tracking system administrator.
  • Stay current on the payroll system to achieve alignment with other departments to ensure adequate accounting support. Accounts Receivable
  • Cash application
  • Post cash, credit card, ACH, and EDI payments into SAP in a timely manner.
  • Prepare credit card chargebacks/NSF checks
  • Complete check scanning
  • Reconcile checks, credit cards, ACH, WIRE, and EDI deposits with the bank statement, plus credit card merchant services to SAP.
  • Processes write-offs/adjustments/apply to's.
  • Works cross-functionally with Customer Service, Collections, and other internal departments to reconcile AR and satisfy our customer needs This is not a job description.
