Are you a detail-driven professional with a passion for healthcare and coding? We have an exciting opportunity for a Medical Coding Specialist to join our team! In this important role, you will ensure accurate coding of healthcare claims to facilitate timely reimbursements from insurance companies and government programs. We're looking for someone who is organized, proactive, and ready to make an impact!
What You'll Be Doing:
Analyze and Code:
Review provider documentation to accurately assign codes for diagnoses, treatments, and procedures.Compliance and Accuracy:
Ensure codes meet legal and insurance requirements and confirm all necessary authorizations are in place before submission.Appeals Management:
Review denied patient claims, evaluate appeal options, and re-file as necessary.Error Identification:
Spot and report error patterns, ensuring any mistakes are corrected promptly.Collaboration:
Work with medical providers to clarify documentation and avoid misinterpretations.A/R Management:
Enter payments and adjustments into our A/R system accurately and efficiently.Ensure Billing Timeliness:
Support the timely and accurate submission of all electronic claims.Confidentiality:
Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA, federal regulations, and Family Care Health Centers policies.What You Bring:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree or Certificate in Medical Coding or related field - REQUIRED.Certification:
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required. Coding certification from AHIMA or AAPC is a plus!Experience:
2+ years of experience in medical coding.Skills:
Strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to meet deadlines efficiently.Job Type:
