LEAD Technical has partnered with a manufacturer and is seeking a dedicated Payroll and Accounting Specialist for an immediate opening with one of our valued clients in Smithville, TN. This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact by managing payroll processes, ensuring compliance, and supporting key accounting functions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in payroll systems, accounting principles, and tax regulations while demonstrating exceptional organizational and communication skills.Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Process payroll for all employees with accuracy and timeliness. Prepare weekly payroll and benefits journal entries. Process employee expense reimbursements and maintain accurate records. Compile and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports. Manage weekly 401(k) contributions and related accounting entries. Perform account reconciliations, including vacation, sick, and earned time-off balances. Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and deductions. Maintain payroll records and support audit requests. Assist in developing and implementing payroll policies and systems. Collaborate with team members and provide backup support as needed. Support physical inventory processes and maintain scanned documentation.Experience and Education Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 1+ years of experience, OR Associate degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, OR High school diploma with 3+ years of relevant experience in payroll/accounting roles.Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools is required. Experience with ADP Workforce Manager and Workforce Now is preferred.Key Attributes:
