The AV Lead Technician will be responsible for leading the installation, configuration, and maintenance of audio-visual systems for various projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, and excellent problem-solving skills to ensure the successful execution of AV projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership:
o Lead and oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of audiovisual systems on project sites. o Coordinate and supervise the work of AV technicians and subcontractors. o Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Technical Expertise:
o Install, configure, and troubleshoot audio-visual equipment, including projectors, displays, sound systems, video conferencing systems, and control systems. o Perform system testing, calibration, and commissioning to ensure optimal performance. o Provide technical support and training to clients on the operation of AV systems.
Project Coordination:
o Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution. o Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to determine equipment requirements and installation procedures. o Maintain accurate project documentation, including equipment lists, installation schedules, and service records.
Quality Assurance:
o Conduct site surveys to assess project requirements and identify potential challenges. o Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies. o Perform quality checks and inspections to ensure all installations meet client expectations and technical specifications
Customer Relations:
o Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service and addressing any concerns or issues promptly. o Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored AV solutions. o Represent the company professionally in all interactions with clients and stakeholders.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
o High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in electronics, engineering, or a related field preferred. o Minimum of 5 years of experience in the installation and maintenance of audiovisual systems. o Experience leading AV installation teams and managing AV projects.
Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting AV equipment and systems. o Strong understanding of AV signal flow, networking, and control systems (e.g., Crestron, AMX, Extron). o Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for AV installations.
Soft Skills:
o Excellent leadership and team management skills. o Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. o Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Other Requirements:
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team. o Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. o Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and work in various environments, including heights and confined spaces.
