a Lead Equipment Operator in Portland!
THE ROLE OF A LEAD EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
Under minimal supervision, acts as a lead in sorting, positioning, staging and loading waste and recyclable materials for safe transport and efficient removal from the site.
SCHEDULE
Friday
  • Tuesday, 9:00am
  • Close (usually 6:30pm); Sunday 7am-5pm
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF

EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
Operates heavy equipment, such as a loader, dozer, excavator or similar equipment, as applicable to location. Performs daily routine safety and equipment operation checks including pre
  • and post-shift inspections on assigned equipment.
Maintains a safe and clean work environment. Reports issues to the appropriate authority and in a timely manner. Acts as a lead or resource for other Equipment Operators, answering questions and providing training. Supports other areas of the operation, as needed. Maintains good customer relations and interacts in a professional manner with customers. Suggests process improvements to enhance efficient removal from the site. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is: Three or more years of related experience, including experience in the operation and maintenance of heavy equipment. Principles and practices of job site safety, potential job hazards, and state and local regulations. Basic computer aptitude. Principles and practices of job site safety, potential job hazards, and state and local regulations including applicable waste regulation. Basic computer programs. High school degree or GED, preferred. Valid driver's license. Commercial driver's license, preferred. Principles of employee training and supervision.
