This job guides the technical direction of Epic applications and solutions across all specialties and ensures alignment with the business strategy. Designs, develops, and implements solutions to business problems in accordance with enterprise architecture, IS standards, best practices, and clinical requirements. Evaluates end user needs, system goals, and existing applications to define system requirements and technical standards and develops and maintains integration and architectural documentation. Relies on extensive knowledge and professional discretion to achieve goals and serves as an advocate to stakeholders, advising on a range of topics from tactical issues to broader, strategic technology initiatives.   • High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree. Work Experience Required
  • 6 years of information services experience in healthcare. Certifications Required
  • Epic certification; 2 additional Epic certifications to be obtained within 12 months of hire. Preferred
  • Certification in relevant Epic applications.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Effective verbal, written, and diagrammatic communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the required job processes. Technical knowledge of systems development life-cycle (SDLC) with a solid understanding of challenges associated with the implementation of imaging systems and applications from initial concept through development, testing, implementation, and operational support. Technical knowledge of Epic; including LPP, EPP, LPR, EAF, LOR, CER, EAP and Security. Technical knowledge of multiple Epic and non-Epic applications, clinical data integration, interoperability standards, SQL scripting and Chronicles programming. Technical knowledge of Epic Reporting Workbench, Dashboard and Clarity report build and other application reports used to measure ongoing project success. Operational or clinical expertise, technical integration skills, and ability to understand and interpret technological impact to clinical operations including risk management, change management, configuration management, business continuity, safety and analytics. Ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders, SMEs, peers and leadership to develop solutions and secure stakeholder support and to plan and lead medium to large, complex, and innovative HIT projects. Excellent project management, time management, and organization skills and ability to work independently, prioritize, adjust schedule as needed, take initiative, escalate appropriately, remain accountable for achieving results, and perform Gap analyses. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and research skills and ability to accurately analyze information, make sound decisions and provide build recommendations with the understanding of downstream effects for the Epic EMR and other ancillary systems. Ability to travel throughout and between facilities and work flexible hours (weekends/holidays/nights/call). Job Duties Designs, develops, documents, and implements success measurements for core application and cross application projects and activities in accordance with IS system goals and initiatives. Provides expertise in all facets of the core application and related applications including prototyping and proof of concept. Works with business owners, subject matter experts, and technical experts to evaluate interoperability solutions and assist in decision recommendations. Cultivates and designs innovative solutions in accordance with emerging technologies and best practices. Researches and analyzes business needs and competitive nature for project implications and shares knowledge. Supports all projects in accordance with service level agreements and ensures that completed projects are transitioned to and supported by appropriate teams.
