Position Description:

Unless you have steel industry manufacturingexperience, you must be capable of moving into an environment whereyou have the least product knowledge and industry experience yetare the responsible maintenance technician who must produce qualityresults to keep production rolling. You will be working with agroup of experienced steel workers along the path to highproductivity and excellence, while mastering the overall aspects ofthe steel business at the front-line maintenance level. Due to thenature of the business, the facilities operate 24 hours/day, 7days/week, 365 days/year. Therefore, this position?may require workoutside of normal hours during plant shutdown and anyunplanned/unforeseen outages. As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsiblefor performing maintenance and repair to facility and productionequipment within different areas of the mill. You will be part ofthe United States Steel Workers Union workforce that has atremendous relationship with management throughout the mill.

Candidates must have strong troubleshooting and repair skills, andshould have experience with the troubleshooting, maintenance, andrepair of electrical systems within industrial equipment,facilities, automated systems, and other mechanical/engineeringsystems. Electrical systems include motors, controls, motorcontrols, PLCs, MCCs, AC/DC systems, electrical schematics, analogelectronics, AC/DC electrical drives, power conversion,instrumentation, and computer hardware. Ideal candidates will havegood mechanical and electronic troubleshooting skills and becreative problem solvers.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a high-school diploma or GED.Candidates must have the maintenance experience outlined in theposition description above in the military, or in a manufacturingor industrial environment. Candidates must have outstanding safetyrecord and good general understanding of maintenance operations.

This is a very industrial, blue-collar environment that requires akeen eye for safety. Candidates must pass a pre-employment hairfollicle drug test as Company has a zero-tolerance policy for drugsand alcohol for safe steelmaking operations.
