POSITION REQUIREMENTS A
high school diploma supplemented by a one-year course in trade school or the equivalent and the ability to climb poles skillfully with Lineman's climbers are required. Individuals must be qualified to hold a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Candidates must successfully pass the Construction and Skilled Trades Test (CAST) Test and the agility assessment. The position will likely involve shift and weekend hours and on-call assignments. The successful candidate must live within 30 minutes of the reporting location. The salary range for this position starts at $42.21 and progresses in accordance with the union contract.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Individuals will learn to perform work involved in the construction, operation, and maintenance of the electric system. Bargaining unit employees under the TEAL contract will be given first consideration. In addition, this position is being posted internally and externally. Individuals must be able to perform work assignments at the Line Mechanic level including transmission work, work emergency, and planned overtime when the need exists; acquire a basic knowledge of the Company Safety Manual; have the mechanical ability to use hand/power tools, and equipment pertinent to line construction and maintenance; and have the ability to climb and work on poles, ladders, and other elevated structures.
