Position Objective:

The CNC Setup/Operator is tasked with setup of short production (25 - 100 pc.) runs using Live Tooled Lathes and VMC's. Multiple setup's a day is routine..

Job Requirements and Primary Responsibilities:

Setup Lathes, Mills, live tools and 4thaxis in VMC's. Horizontal experience a plus. Assist in Debugging of programs and tooling to boost efficiency. Reads and interprets blueprints, setup sheets. Use Calipers, Micrometers, Bore gauges and various inspection tools. Cleans machine, tooling, and parts. Performs general machine maintenance. (Coolants, oils). Troubleshoot basic CNC alarms.

Required Skills:

Requires excellent oral and written communication skills in order to interact with other programming and engineering. Ability to accurately use standard measuring tools at the machine. (Tight tolerances of +/- .0005) Strong documentation and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

Solid understanding of basic and complex functions of Milling and Turning Centers. Experience with Okuma OSP control. 3 years of CNC Setup and Operation.

Physical Requirements:

Required to frequently lift 10 to 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to walk, sit, stand to operate machine, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and reach above shoulders. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Keen awareness of surroundings always.
