Then look no further! Lehigh County Authority is seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Equipment Operator II . This role offers a dynamic and hands-on opportunity for someone with a Class A CDL license, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work well under pressure in a collaborative environment. What you'll do As an Equipment Operator II, your key responsibilities will include:
Equipment Operation:
Operate various equipment including tractors, trailers, tankers, tri-axles, 10-wheelers, Bobcat, backhoes, and forklifts.
Tractor-Trailer Jockeying:
Move tractor trailers in and out of the dewatering building. Load trucks with a front-end loader, connect and disconnect hauling trailers and tankers.
Polymer Mixing:
Prepare polymer mixes for the sludge dewatering operation, responsible for maintaining a clean polymer room.
Preventive Maintenance:
Perform regular preventive maintenance on sludge dewatering equipment, including filter belts, and on the tractor used for jockeying.
Vehicle Maintenance:
Maintain vehicles and equipment as required, including fueling, performing minor repairs, and taking vehicles to the repair shop when necessary. Ensure that all equipment is kept in safe, working condition.
Facility Maintenance:
Assist in maintaining the facility, including cleaning areas like the Digester Control Building, landscaping around the Dewatering Building and Elutriation Tanks, and removing weeds from 3 digesters.
Waste Removal:
Empty screening dumpsters and assist with other waste disposal tasks as required. Transport tankers from Water Filtration to the Wastewater Plant, and haul biosolids to land application sites or landfills.
Winter Operations:
Plow snow, salt, and sand streets and other areas as needed, ensuring safe working conditions during winter months.
Safety & Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols and maintain a strong safety record
Additional Duties:
Perform utility and laborer duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For Schedule :
Rotating 1st & 2nd shifts, M-F. 6 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. for a week/then 2 pm-10:30 pm for a week. Mandatory Overtime is required at times to maintain plant efficiency.
Education :
High School diploma or GED equivalent required
Licensure :
Valid PA Class A CDL driver's license with air brake endorsements required. N-Tank Trailers are preferred. Individuals without a tanker endorsement will be considered if able and willing to obtain N-Tank Trailers endorsement within 6 months of employment. Must be comfortable driving a 10-speed manual transmission
Work Environment:
Must be able to work in all outside weather conditions, and move/lift up to 55 lbs.
