Full Job Description Job Summary:
The IT Field Support Technician plays a pivotal role in providing comprehensive technical support across the organization. This position requires the management of various IT service tickets, distributed through our IT Service Management System, with an emphasis on prompt and effective resolution. The technician ensures the reliability and optimal performance of IT infrastructure, essential for the smooth operation of our business processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Incident and Request Management:
Respond to all IT support tickets efficiently, ensuring timely and effective solutions are provided.
Hardware Installation and Support:
Administer technical support for the installation, configuration, and deployment of workstations, printers, modems, phones, and other essential computing and telecommunication technologies.
System Maintenance and Documentation:
Responsible for the maintenance, documentation, and installation of new IT hardware. This includes managing cabling connections, wire management, and emergency power systems.
Software Management:
Oversee the installation, configuration, and administration of operating system software, applications, upgrades, and patches using SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) for imaging and deployment.
Technical Support:
Provide general technical support for various PC software products including word processing, spreadsheets, email, graphics, and communications software.
Vendor Coordination:
Coordinate and schedule support, maintenance, and repairs with vendors.
Emergency Response and On-Call Duties:
Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, responding to emergency outages and issues as required. This may involve varied working hours to address and resolve technical challenges efficiently.
Remote Support:
Offer remote technical support to users and company sites from the primary location, ensuring continuity and reliability of IT services.
ServiceNow Expertise:
Utilize ServiceNow for managing and tracking all incident and service requests, ensuring thorough documentation and follow-up.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in IT field support or a similar role, with strong knowledge of SCCM imaging and ServiceNow. Comprehensive understanding of computer hardware, software, and telecommunications systems. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with teams and vendors.
Working Conditions:
This role may require varied working hours and participation in an on-call rotation for emergency response. Remote support is also an integral part of the job responsibilities.
