Payroll & Human Resources Spec 5.0 5.0 out of 5 stars Palmer, AK The Payroll & Human Resources Specialist will perform human resource tasks, perform weekly payroll, and assist with other administrative duties. Because of the unique nature of this position, remote work is unavailable; employment will be at our main office in Palmer, Alaska. Key Responsibilities Have strong organizational, time management and communication skills. Knowledge of Payroll and Human Resource procedures. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and proficient data entry. Work individually and in a team setting and be capable of operating in a fast-paced work environment. Prepare and process ACH Payments. Assist with in-processing of new employees Keep employee records up to date by promptly processing employee status changes. Maintain personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements. Maintains Employee Handbook with updated resolution and other pertinent information, as needed. Must be able to exercise a high level of confidentiality and interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation. Cross Training with the Finance Department for backup in other areas Qualifications High School Diploma Required. Associates degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting preferred. Must have basic accounting skills and knowledge of computer-based software. Sage Intacct experience and Miter (payroll & human resource platform) preferred. 5 years Payroll and/or Human Resource experience required. Experience with certified payroll required Previous experience with construction and engineering firms is preferred but not required. Effectively organize reports and follow prescribed formats using proper grammar, syntax and punctuation. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Must be able to work under the pressure of deadlines.
