The Medical Claims Denial Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of duties that include: Analyze and resolve all insurance claim denials Appeal carrier denials through coding review, contract review, and medical record review File appeals or send corrected claims to payers Contact insurance payers to obtain the status of a claim and see if it is denied or still pending Ensure correct appeal processes are followed and completed Investigate claims with no payer response to ensure claims were received by the payer Enter document issues and resolution Complete verification of benefits. Read, discuss, and interpret the explanation of benefits (EOB). Work with Kansas Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) Submit medical records requested from the payer by faxing or portal submission Update the patient account and resubmit accessions to the correct payer.
