Technology Support Specialist 4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars Turlock, CA 95382 Technology Support Specialist Range 13 Summary of Position Under the department of Information Systems and general supervision of the site administrators, provides technology support and assistance to staff and students; administers and maintains school networks; troubleshoots technology at the school site and performs other related work as required. Duties and Responsibilities Supports in setting up computer lab and providing instruction to students in computer technology. Assists in student record keeping. Maintains Local Area Network including performing daily file server backups, adding new users, and trouble shooting; assists with installations and upgrades of hardware and software; provides trouble shooting and/or minor hardware repairs and makes appropriate referrals to district repair technicians; assist with development and maintenance of web sites; Instructs and provides ongoing support and assistance to staff in utilizing hardware & software of district information systems. Maintains inventories and records of hardware & software; and performs other related work as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Computer hardware and software systems used by the District.

Provide effective support and assistance to students and staff in using District computer hardware & software. Learn to provide effective maintenance of Local Area Network and minor hardware repairs. Continue to learn to use new technology as it becomes available. Maintain effective communication and work cooperatively with students, staff, and the public. Operates tools & equipment according to established safety procedures. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing. Use provided safety equipment. Report any unsafe conditions in work area that are not correctable to supervisor immediately. Education and Experience Previous experience in the use of computer technology.
