Ability to obtain a public trust clearance needed Must be able to travel to satellite sites/airports in which they would use their own personal vehicle (sporadic) 1st Shift core hours, (8 am
  • 4:30 PM) but must be flexible Also have a rotating on-call weekend schedule; after been on board and trained for a couple of months (works out to about 1 weekend per month) Client is looking for a Field Technician for the Company's Field Services organization supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
This role will be responsible for onsite support at the Boston Air Route Traffic Control Center (ZBW/ARTCC). This position will also support remote locations around the New England area. Description of work environment" Customer locations (indoor & outdoor) within your assigned area (about an hour and a half from Nashua) What is a typical work day? Perform installation and maintenance on a variety of Networking and Telecommunication equipment (moreso on the Telecom side) at customer locations. The position requires daily commuting to and from customer remote locations (indoor & outdoor) within your assigned area. Must
  • Haves (Hard Skills) Hands on Telecomm/wiring background Experience with logging into network equipment and circuit testing using a verity of different test equipment/laptop.
Knowledge and usage of multiple test equipment: Examples are: Viavi 5800, JDSU HST3000, DataScout, Ameritech AM5XT, Digital Oscilloscope, Halcyon 704A, Anritsu Spectrum Analyzer and other T1/DS3 Test sets. (Digital and Analog testing) Experience with Microsoft and the components of the MS Office Suite.
  • 5+ years of experience working with fiber, Carrier Ethernet, Multiplexes, DACS, Routers/Switches, Network topology, Frame Relay, Fractional
T-1, SONET
Network Technology, ATM, Private Line, Voice, and Data applications. Experience with cable connectors and replacement including RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25, V.35, RS-449, BNC and 50 pin Amphenol.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Network+, CCNA, CCNP, CCNA Wireless, A+
  • Ability to work from home, in an "on-call" status. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active DOD Secret Clearance
  • Capable of lifting 70 pounds
  • Must be willing to travel (up to 100% of the time) to remote sites within a 3hour drive circle of base location. Technicians may be asked to travel outside of their assigned region, as needed. Posses and maintain a valid Driver's License, and satisfactory driving record, as conditions of initial (and continued0 employment
  • Capable of utilizing ladders, and step stools, to reach heights of approx. 10 feet
  • Willingness and/or ability to work outside regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs and to respond to after-hours emergency calls as required.

Education:
HS Degree required and 5+ years working experience specific to the telecom field.
