Job Description
Plumbing Instructor Capstone College Capstone College in Pasadena, CA 91103 We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual to teach courses in our Plumbing Technician program. The instructor reports directly to the Director of Education and is responsible for teaching both theory and hands-on laboratory exercises following a prescribed and approved curriculum in accordance with course competencies/objectives and daily Lesson Plans. The instructor will perform a variety of routine duties as needed to teach the Plumbing trade in the classroom and laboratory using a variety of teaching methods such as lectures, and demonstrations using audiovisual aids and technical programs to supplement presentations to prepare students for entry-level employment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provides quality instruction to students in both classroom and laboratory practice of the various aspects of Plumbing Technician subject areas. Provide instruction in accordance with Capstone College accredited curriculum and course outlines. Provide hands-on Plumbing training for student skills development in our fully equipped facility. Prepare lesson plans, maintain accurate records, and report on students' attainment and progress. Ensures that appropriate safety policies and procedures are developed and implemented in the Plumbing Labs Maintains program equipment and Lab areas clean and safe. Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics. Maintain current knowledge and technical skills in the Plumbing field, engage in innovative methods of effective educational practices, and keep course material up to date. Participates in professional development and training activities to improve teaching skills and technical expertise in the area taught. Encourage student growth, professionalism, and accountability. Prepare students for a successful career as a Plumbing TechnicianQUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience Requirements Minimum Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Completion of Plumbing Apprenticeship Program or graduation from a Technical School Plumbing program and required work experience or equivalent. A minimum of Five (5) years of field experience in the Plumbing industry. Journeyman Plumber or State ofCA, C-36
Plumbing Contractor. Preferred Qualifications Teaching experience One (1+) year in Post-Secondary Education. Basic Computer Skills to navigate Canvas Learning Management System.Job Type:
