This role involves operating various heavy machinery, such as excavators, loaders, and material handlers, to load and unload cargo from vessels to barges or hoppers efficiently.
Key Job Duties:
Ensure the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment. Manage the transloading of cargoes and commodities securely. Report any unsafe operations or behaviors to the production manager. Conduct pre-job inspections and regular maintenance of equipment. Operate equipment under varying conditions, adjusting controls as necessary. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to safety standards and company policies. Engage in continuous learning and training opportunities. Work independently, following instructions and completing tasks with minimal supervision.Skills and Qualifications:
Teamwork skills and at least 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in an industrial setting. Knowledge of rig operations and maintenance. Experience in stevedoring is advantageous. Proficiency in operating heavy equipment. Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a TWIC card. Must pass pre-employment drug screening, physical, and background check.Work Environment:
Work in varying weather conditions and at different elevations. Exposure to moderate to high noise levels. Rotational shift work required, often exceeding twelve hours per day.Physical Requirements:
Physically demanding role requiring climbing, lifting (over 50 lbs. occasionally), and other physical activities. Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety vests, gloves, and steel-toe boots.Compensation and Benefits:
