Operations Manager Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of heavy machinery and equipment used in construction, mining, or industrial operations. This position requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment, including trucks, bulldozers, backhoes, cranes, and excavators. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. Repair and replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, pumps, and brakes. Perform routine inspections to ensure machinery is in safe and working order. Maintain accurate service and repair logs. Collaborate with supervisors and operators to address equipment issues promptly and efficiently. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Maintain inventory of parts and tools, ordering new supplies when necessary. Provide guidance to junior mechanics or apprentices as needed. Work with limited supervision while ensuring high-quality results.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications or training preferred. Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic (minimum [X] years). Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Strong problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Valid driver's license (CDL preferred). Ability to operate equipment for diagnostic purposes.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment (up to [X] lbs). Ability to work in outdoor conditions, including exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather. Capability to kneel, bend, and stand for long periods.
Work Environment:
