Job Summary (Monday - Friday 6:00am-3:00pm) We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator (Lead) to join our team at Valley Iron. The position requires leadership, mechanical, mathematical, memory, and organizational skills. The Processing Lead must be a decision maker. This position is a working lead position; meaning that the lead is working and running equipment right alongside of the folks they are leading. The Processing Lead will be expected to make efficient and cost-effective use of employee resources and equipment to maximize profit for Valley Iron Inc. Essential Functions

• Use and operation of a Forklift, cut-off saw, cutting torch, and other yard equipment required.
• Reading measuring tools, Micrometers, Scales, Calipers, etc.
• Ability to operate all processing machinery to keep the workflow in the shop moving.
• Maintain all processing equipment in the Fresno facility
• Troubleshoot machinery and conduct minor repairs of machinery when necessary.
• Leadership of employees in the shop.
• Manage the shop schedule to ensure. o Orders are completed on time o Maintenance of machinery and facility is being done regularly o Employees are staying busy o Quality of work and items being produced are of a high standard
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Training employees on machines.
• Performs weekly safety meetings.
• Assist with the ordering of gases and supplies for the shop.
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience 1.

Minimum Education Preferred:

High School Diploma or Equivalent 2. Proficient in reading and writing English, reading a tape measure, caliper, blueprints, and understanding measurements. 3.

Minimum Experience Preferred:

2 years in lead role, 2 years forklift experience, and 2 years machine operating experience. Knowledge of carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, etc. 4. Strong leadership skills 5. Experience with Plate processing machinery, CNC Machinery, Lasers, Press brakes, etc. 6. Experienced machine operator of the same type of equipment.
