PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Bookkeeping Associate is responsible for a range of financial tasks to support the District's accounting and financial operations. This includes preparing and submitting accurate and timely reports, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements. The role involves monitoring and reporting on the district's financial health, assisting with audits, and maintaining thorough financial records, including payroll, budgets, and general ledger accounts. The Bookkeeping Associate works closely with the Assistant Superintendent of Operations and other district staff, offering insights for strategic decisions and maintaining transparency in financial practices. The position also requires attention to confidentiality, participation in professional development, and compliance with district policies and accounting regulations. Additionally, the associate will manage accounting software and assist in other administrative duties as needed to ensure the smooth operation of financial processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma required; additional degrees or certifications in accounting or related fields are preferred. Experience in school district operations, large facility management, or accounting-related roles is preferred. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for travel throughout the District and surrounding areas. At least three to five years of experience in bookkeeping and accounting tasks, including advanced record-keeping. Completion of relevant courses in bookkeeping or accounting; some college coursework is preferred. Equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered to meet the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
