Manufacturing Technician III The Role:
As a Manufacturing Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks throughout the facility in support of day-to-day operations as well as relief coverage. The Plant Utility crew supports the entire operations from the receiving of wheat to the delivery of flour and mill feed at our state-of-the art "Port Redwing" at Gibsonton, Florida facility. Responsibilities:
  • Safety and Food Safety
  • Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
Engage in safety training and proactive safety behavior. Help maintain, update, and enforce procedures for the plant, and ensure that yourself and others are always choosing to execute work with safety and food safety at the forefront of all decisions and actions. You will be working Final Product Zonea (FPZ) and responsible for ensuring that all food safety procedures and expectations are upheld we well as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Sanitation
  • Routine cleaning of floors, equipment, roofs and outside grounds in any department there is a need. Specialized cleaning tasks such as bin cleaning, sifter work, filter sock changes, Integrated Pest Management (IPM) equipment clean-outs.
  • Daily Operations
  • Prepare auxiliary operations tasks in support of the daily production within the elevator, packaging, bulk and warehouse departments.
Tasks will include but are not limited to rail car loading and unloading, sifter work, maintain rail operations, shuttle wagon and locomotive movement, setting up conveyors/hoppers and any other equipment for vessel unloading. The daily activities of this role vary greatly and the individual will be called upon to support other plant operation tasks as needed.
  • Administrative
  • Prepare and support inventory activities, document procedures, equipment troubleshooting and communication between departments. This mill will be mostly paperless, so work in all areas will be required to be performed on computer systems and technologies.
  • Operations Relief
  • Provide relief for other Operations roles during planned and unplanned absences. This requires training and backup support to safely, efficiently and properly use all automated equipment to include control systems and related computer systems which monitor pack, bulk and elevator operation. This includes, answering alarms, and determining the nature of any problem to make necessary corrections.
  • Projects and Scheduled Maintenance
  • Perform basic mechanical tasks during downtime and schedule maintenance across the facility.
Maintain all tools/equipment and execute processes in the 5S, Pristine AMPS standards using process tools such as Centerline, 5S, understanding loss through 5why to create continuous improvement process by determining Root Cause and Corrective Actions. Assist in project work as needed.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • High School High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in an industrial environment (milling, agricultural, food, production, manufacturing, warehouse or equivalent)
  • Advanced skills with computer applications, to include Microsoft Office Suite, Control Systems or other Production Operation technology with the ability to quickly learn and use new technology
  • Demonstrated mechanical understanding and intermediate troubleshooting ability
  • Demonstrated Safety and/or Food Safety & Quality Champion Behaviors Good to
Have:
  • 4 or more years' experience in an industrial environment (milling, agricultural, food, production, manufacturing, warehouse or equivalent)
  • Commercial Driver's License(CDL) and/or experience operating terminal tractors, heavy equipment or semi-trailers
  • Food Production experience
  • Continued Education to include; Associates Degree, Technical or Trade certifications, Production Coursework, Training and Education specific to
Production or Industrial Operations Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as is required by the operating areas (i.e. safety glasses, protective footwear, hard hat, hearing protection and, at times, a respirator)
  • Ability to work a machine paced continuous process that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with conditions which include: Heat/Cold temperatures (inclement weather) Indoor/Outdoor environment Dusty environment (to include Wheat/Gluten allergens) Noisy environment Frequent moving/vibration/ or other motion of equipment/processes o Elevated Places
  • Ability to perform work safely which may require: Frequently standing, walking, rotating, bending/stooping, twisting, crouching, kneeling, balancing and reaching or lifting at varying heights and levels Frequently climbing stairs and/or ladders Occasionally lifting, shoveling and/or carrying Occasionally pushing and/or pulling Working in confined or elevated places
Other Considerations:
  • Must be able to read, interpret instruction and technology and communicate effectively in English
  • Must have willingness for continued education, training and development in Production Practices and Programs (to include other department operations)
  • Must be willing to work alongside your team including long days, on rotating or varying shifts (days, evenings, and nights) as well as overtime, weekend or holiday work.
  • This role requires you to complete a pre-interview candidate assessment to be considered for interview, and will be a factor in consideration for offer.

COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION
We provide market-driven base pay, based on skills, abilities, and level of experiences. Our salary ranges are broad, and individual salary will be market competitive based on a candidate's unique set of skills and level of experience. The starting range for this position is $20.10
  • $26.
78, with additional earning potential possible commensurate with experience. Additionally, we believe that our team members are the reason for our success and all team members are incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and individual results achieved. While the specific bonus plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions, the targeted bonus plan and targeted percentage amount for this role is Bonus
  • OIP, 5% Annual.
