Our South St. Louis team is seeking Automotive Recycling Techs to produce quality parts for our valued customers. With a long history in vehicle recycling dating back to 1924, we are commited to finding the right individuals that can lead us into the future. Productive techs have the potential to earn $45k-$62k or more per year! As a Dismantle Tech, your responsibilities will include basic quality inspections and removing inventoried parts from end of life vehicles with your own tools. Every tech has their own workspace, vehicle lift, electric, and compressed air supply. Our work environment is both friendly and focused, providing a light yet highly motivated atmosphere. Modern Imports has been providing the hard to find and in demand auto parts since 1924 . This position offers an outdoor covered work environment in your own space and includes frequent bending, reaching, and lifting over 50lbs, in all weather conditions. The position offers Monday through Friday 8 hour day shifts. No weekends. You must supply your own automotive mechanics tools for this position. Retirement plan Split cost medical insurance Dental, and vision insurance Employee discounts Responsibilities Include (but not limited to): Perform visual and functional inspections on various components and assemblies of all vehicle makes including foreign and domestic to guarantee mechanical soundness. Remove from vehicle, quality check, and stock automotive parts in our warehouses. Write detailed notes after dismantle is complete detailing condition or defects in automotive components. Collaborate with other techs and management to solve problems in a positive manner. Display commitment to learn new technologies and methods within the rapidly changing automotive industry. Maintain a clean space and professional work environment to adhere to company policies on production and safety. Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time, may include light/heavy lifting, bending, and squatting. Safely operate forklifts while transporting automobiles and parts through the facility. Qualifications Include (but not limited to) Possess your own automotive mechanical tools High School Diploma or GED Be able to read, understand, and utilize diagrams and instructions. Excellent problem-solving skills Excellent communication and computer skills. Must be at least 18 years of age
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous automotive experience in a majority of automotive areas including exhaust, auto body, and mechanical systems. You must own your own tools.Position Criteria:

Hard worker, works diligently to get tasks done and demonstrates personal characteristics of responsibility, dependability, communication, and team-work. Ability to review, analyze, and interpret information, identify problems, and make decisions. Ability to work an 8 hour shift between the hours of 7am and 4:30pm Monday through Friday.
