Job Title:

CDL Drivers Class A or B and Common Laborer (Full-Time)

Job Summary:

The Common Laborer will perform a wide range of physical labor tasks in support of workers on the highway construction site.

Reports to:

Jr. Foreman and/or

Foreman Supervisory Responsibilities:

None Duties and Responsibilities:

• Able to operate hand tools and power tools of all types
• Able to listen, understand, and follow directions.
• Able to learn how to haul, operate, load and unload construction equipment
• Able to dig trenches, backfill holes, or compact earth to prepare for construction
• Able to set up traffic control devices such as cones, signs and barricades etc..
• Help to maintain a clean and safe job site
• Perform other related and non-related duties as assigned
• Regular and timely attendance Required skills and abilities.
• Ability to learn how to operate basic construction equipment
• Must have a valid Texas driver's license and CDL Class A or Class B License
• Must be able to drive a Manual Truck and Tanker Endorsement
• Must be able pass a Motor Vehicle Record check with minimal infractions
• Must be able to pass a physical
• Must be able to pass drug and alcohol screenings
• Must be able to travel and work overtime, weekends and nights as needed and out of town
• Must always wear all proper PPE require in the field.

CDL Driver Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED.

Physical Requirements:

• Work is performed outdoors in all types of weather conditions
• Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
• Must be able to lift and carry 80 LBS, and push and or pull/ up to 50 LBS always.
• Must be able to stand and walk up to eight hours per day.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Exposure to noise, fumes, vibrations, and heights
• Exposure to prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, stooping, reaching, crawling, and climbing
• Ability to remain flexible as specific assignments change.
• Ability to work with a variety of personalities.
