Job Description

Used Car Technician City Toyota 255 San Pedro Road, Daly City, CA 94014 City Toyota is looking for a skilled Used Car Technician to join our team. In this role, you'll conduct thorough vehicle inspections to support accurate cost estimates for mechanical reconditioning. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience diagnosing and repairing various automotive systems, such as brakes, tires, batteries, electrical components, fluids, and identifying issues like rust, frame damage, and structural concerns.   • The Used Car Technician position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of between $30.00 and $45.00. The position also may also pay a production bonus based on individual or team performance that may range from $0.00 (if baseline benchmarks are not met) to $1,500.00. Benefits

  • Perform work as outlined on repair orders efficiently and accurately, following dealership and factory standards
  • Diagnose vehicle issues and complete necessary repairs
  • Communicate with our parts department to obtain required parts
  • Conduct road tests to verify repair quality
  • Perform a detailed 360-point inspection on all used vehicles and determine if any further safety or maintenance work is required or recommended
  • Save and tag parts of each job if it is covered under warranty, or otherwise requested
  • Communicate with a used car advisor immediately if there is any additional work required, if the work outlined in the repair order is not required, or if the repairs cannot be completed within the promise time
  • Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order
  • Stay up to date on manufacturer technical bulletins
  • Keep the shop and work area clean
  • Maintain and be accountable for all dealership owned tools and manuals, ensuring that they are returned to their proper place and in the same condition as they were received
  • Report any defects or malfunctions with machinery to a supervisor immediately
  • Ensure all vehicles are kept clean
  • Understand and comply with all federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-know, etc.
  • Operate all tools and machinery in a safe manner
  • Follow safety guidelines from CDC, OSHA, and the Health Department
  • Report any safety concerns or issues immediately to a supervisor
  • Participate in manufacturer sponsored training programs, classes, and events Requirements Must obtain and maintain any certificates, licenses, and registrations as required by City Toyota Must have a valid Driver's License that meets City Toyota's insurability requirements Must be able to stand/sit for up to 8 hours at a time without restrictions Must be able to lift 40 pounds without restrictions Must be able to enter and exit vehicles without issue High school diploma or the equivalent Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information Reliable, detail oriented and self-motivated City Toyota is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
