Areas of support include but are not limited to recruiting, payroll, medical leave/leave of absences, health & wellness benefits, employee relations, performance, development, as assigned by management. Serves as initial point of contact for employee relations matters; training, employment, labor relations, payroll, compensation and benefits. Provides guidance to management and employees on complex HR related concerns, coordinates with other departments as needed, and refers complex issue to higher levels. Participates in employee investigations and assists with providing recommendations on resolutions. Initiates and completes processing of all duties involved in employment, terminations, transfers, and promotions of personnel. Researches and sends employee information to Compensation when requesting salary recommendations. Fulfills the hiring needs of the organization and leads recruitment initiatives and programs as necessary. Establishes and implements college recruitment activities and programs at designated universities. Extends and negotiates offers of employment. Coordinates the on-boarding of all new hires. Assists with the termination process to ensure legal obligations are met. Coordinates the administration of employee benefits programs with external providers and answers participants benefit questions and resolves mostly routine issues related to their benefits. Prepares and communicates information to participants concerning benefit programs, procedures, and changes and ensures compliance. Coordinates the administration of payroll with external provider; Reviews payroll and ensures compliance with government agencies. Ensures compliance with labor regulations. Assists with special projects and functions of the department. Assists lower level HR/Support staff as needed. Designs and runs monthly reports as needed. This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay. The salary range for this position is $83,600 to $115,100 and represents Valero's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of expected compensation at the time of this posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of job-related factors, including but not limited to, the individual's qualifications and experience. Qualifications Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero Benicia Refinery, required. High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 5 years of professional level human resources experience required. Bachelor's or higher level degree in Human Resources, Business, or related area preferred. Experience with SAP preferred. Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All successful candidates must be eligible to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
