Linux System Admin Title : Linux System Administrator

Remote (4 PM - Midnight EST)

Description:

The Linux System Administrator will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Linux-based environments, specifically Red Hat and CentOS. This role requires expertise in system administration, configuration management, and virtualized environments. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving abilities, experience working with automation tools, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat and CentOS Linux systems. Troubleshoot and resolve system performance and reliability issues. Utilize configuration management tools such as Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, or Chef for automation. Work within VMware environments as an operator, supporting virtualized infrastructure. Develop and maintain scripts using Bash and Python for automation and system management. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure system security and efficiency.

Required Skills:

Strong experience with Red Hat and CentOS Linux administration. Hands-on experience with configuration management tools (Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, Chef). Familiarity with VMware, with the ability to perform administrative tasks within the virtualized environment. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication skills for remote collaboration.

Desired Skills:

Advanced scripting capabilities in Bash and Python. Experience working in high-availability Linux environments.
