San Diego, CA 92121 Opportunity and position immediately available for an experienced automotive technician at a busy Automotive center located in Miramar. We have a solid reputation and are one of a kind independent auto repair facility in San Diego. Only experienced Technicians will be considered! Seeking Master Certified ASE Technicians with a State of California SMOG licenses. Prospective candidate must be experienced smog technician, with strong testing, diagnosing and repairing vehicles with the ability to communicate effectively. Position requires a valid California Driver's License and clean driving record history. Responsibilities Perform SMOG tests and repairs. Perform maintenance and repairs. Identify and explain automotive issues and repairs, using diagnostic and professional equipment. Plan repair procedures using charts manuals and experience. Test the functionality of parts and systems. Perform routine maintenance and general mechanic work on vehicles. Prepared to get additional certification as needed. Willingness to learn with hands-on training. Help keep repair shop clean and organized. Keep a professional appearance. Skills Automotive and engine repair experience or auto mechanic training required. ASE and SMOG certifications required. Hold a valid driver license. Must read, interpret and transcribe data in order to maintain accurate records. Perform routine maintenance and other tasks in a fast-paced environment. May lift objects that weigh as much as 50 lbs. Understanding of comprehensive automotive systems. Ability to use diagnostic and professional automotive equipment. Experience with heavy equipment and as a diesel mechanic, diesel engine knowledge, or prepared to do on-the-job training. Good hand-eye coordination.
