Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.Typical duties include:
Install and set up various types of instruments and devices to monitor/control pressure, temperature, level, flow, concentrations, etc. Utilize electrical and pneumatic sensors and control devices for proper control. Using both electrical and mechanical expertise, perform calibrations and preventative/corrective maintenance on instrumentation and control systems to ensure accurate and precise readings for optimal performance. Troubleshoot, repair, and modify furnace systems to ensure environmental compliance and quality standards. Utilize piping and instrumentation diagrams on various systems to ensure governmental regulations are followed on all furnaces and boiler systems. Use various measurement devices to gather and analyze data to find possible future issues and preventative actions. Maintain accurate records of calibrations, verifications, repairs, and maintenance activities. Assist other departments and mills in record-keeping and research and development to increase efficiency and cost savings. Communicate issues, solutions, and project progress with team members and supervisors through various upgrades and modifications to mill systems. Stay updated on new equipment, technology, and best practices in the instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical fields. Support "On-Call Status" schedule and open to work weekends to support mill and department needsMinimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing/Industrial environment as an electrician/electronics technician. (Related Armed Services experience is acceptable) Valid driver's licensePreferred Qualifications:
