Positions Responsibilities :
The primary purpose of the position is to act as a purchasing agent of ARHS. The position will be responsible for accounting functions and will be a key resource for finance staff and program managers while assisting the Finance Director as needed. This position will be responsible for deposits and managing ARHS mail room services, as well. The individual in this position will work closely with other finance team members, all ARHS department heads, and staff.
Key Duties:
Research and make all travel reservations, which includes registration, hotel accommodations, and airline reservations. Oversee budgetary allowances to ensure each reservation is appropriated. Responsible for tracking and monitoring courier, overnight, certified, and express mail deliveries. Processing requisitions and purchase orders (PO) for office supplies, medical supplies, equipment, IT equipment and all other agency supplies. Receives all merchandise. The employee shall pull the PO, check the packing slip, sign the packing slip, and give to Accounts Payable for processing. Responsible for processing all monies received through interoffice mail and/or received through USPS mail.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Considerable knowledge of established governmental and departmental budgeting and bookkeeping practices and procedures. Ability to understand, interpret and apply laws and regulations to the maintenance of financial records. Ability to prepare fiscal reports and analyses of financial statements. Ability to supervise and instruct subordinate personnel in record keeping and other clerical work.
Minimum Training and Experience:
Graduation from high school including or supplemented by basic courses in bookkeeping or accounting and four years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting clerical work in an accounting office; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (Graduation from a four year college or university with a major in business administration may be substituted for the required experience; or a two year degree in business administration or accounting from a community college or business college may be substituted for three of the four years of experience; or completion of a one year course including or supplemented by courses in bookkeeping or accounting may be substituted for two years of the required experience.)
