JOB PURPOSE
The Integration and Systems Developer works with the College's Information Systems team and administrative offices to provide expertise in software development procedures for the College's online applications. This position builds and maintains online technology; recommends and redesigns applications; maintains on-premises apps and systems; gathers and documents project requirements; develops application specifications; performs required testing and debugs problem reports; and solves complex programming challenges. This position also designs, writes, and tests new applications and interfaces to further the College's enterprise projects, and uses a full range of programming actions to produce products from numerous, diverse data elements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Reporting directly to the Director of Information Systems, the Integration and Systems Developer works independently and collaboratively to perform the following essential duties and responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain secure online applications and integrations for administrative information systems, both onsite and cloud hosted. These include the Student Information System (Anthology Student), campus engagement hub (Pathify), Workday, the college's Identity Management System, and others used by faculty, students, staff, administration, and alumni. Work with team members to develop and integrate functionality into multiple SaaS applications. Participate in requirements gathering and project planning sessions. Collaborate with other IT teams to solve cross-functional challenges. Collaborate with various on-campus departments to streamline and automate data integrations between systems. Work with administrative staff to develop and maintain database-driven or cloud-hosted enterprise applications consistent in design and high performance. Install and configure server software on virtual hosts. Monitor online systems and recommend optimizations to improve performance and security. Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and software on Windows and Linux servers. Provide training, testing, debugging, and technical documentation as required. Participate punctually, effectively and professionally in meetings. Learn new systems and adapt to rapidly changing technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in the development, production and maintenance of dynamic, complex web sites or online applications, preferably in higher education. Required experience and advanced working knowledge of: Working with apps written in .NET and scripting languages such as PHP, JavaScript, Typescript (Angular) Developing and maintaining web services, REST APIs, and performing system integration development Authentication methods for API's Writing and analyzing SQL queries Proficient skills in MSSQL or similar database, web server administration, Visual Studio, or other Web authoring software. General web design concepts (HTML and CSS) Preferred Skills include: Design, develop, test, and deploy Workday integrations Review business/functional requirement documents, author technical design documents, and produce high quality integrations that are unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in Experience in using Confluence, BitBucket, Trello, or equivalents Demonstrate knowledge of CI/CD pipelines Familiarity with data governance and data lifecycle management processes Experience with monitoring and alerting tools, and analyzing system metrics to determine root cause analysis Experience with Student Information Systems such as Anthology Student
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND CRITICAL SKILLS

Web Application Development and Maintenance:
Proven experience in developing, producing, and maintaining dynamic, complex web sites or online applications, particularly within the Microsoft
ASP.NET/IIS
environment. Strong understanding of basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript coding principles. Ability to work effectively with REST APIs in modern web applications. Proficiency in C#, Python, or other programming languages. Knowledge of common software development design patterns.
Database and Authentication:
Experience working with SQL Server or other relational database systems. Understanding and implementation of authentication methods like OAuth and JWT.
Version Control and Collaboration:
Proficiency in using version control tools such as Bitbucket or GitHub. Experience with work-collaboration tools like Confluence or Trello.
Communication and Customer Service:
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and respectfully, both verbally and in writing. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Dedicated commitment to customer service. Ability to develop clear and complete documentation. Communicate technical issues to users in a clear and effective manner. Communicate user needs with appropriate technical specificity to systems staff.
Security and Compliance:
Understanding and adherence to departmental and regulatory guidelines (PCI, GLBA, FERPA, etc.) for privacy and cybersecurity.
Independent Learning and Problem Solving:
Demonstrated ability to learn and work independently. Adept and proactive at problem-solving and conflict resolution. Ability to identify problems; analyze situations accurately; recommend and implement effective solutions and courses of action.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
Experience as a developer or similar role in higher education. Development experience with portal platforms like Pathify or SharePoint. Development experience with ERP platforms like Anthology Student. Data integration development using ETL tools like Boomi or Azure Data Factory. Experience using cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure or AWS. Familiarity with data governance and data lifecycle management processes.
General Skills:
Ability to define and prioritize realistic/specific goals and objectives, perform multiple projects/tasks, meet deadlines/timelines/schedules, and work both independently and as a collaborative team member. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and tact. Proficient use of basic Microsoft Office software. Use exceptional organizational, time management, planning, analytical, and basic math skills to complete work with accuracy and a keen attention to detail with constant interruptions in a fast-paced office environment. Prepare comprehensive narrative and statistical reports. Identify problems; analyze situations accurately; recommend and implement effective solutions and courses of action. Can sit for extended periods of time.
REQUIRED HOURS
The regular hours for this full-time position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday. Holiday, weekend and evening work hours will be required to complete work during off-peak periods and in response to emergency situations. Travel will be required. Regular hours may vary due to needs of the College or division.
RATE:
The annual rate for this role is between $118,657.43 - $120,965 with a competitive benefits package. The specific factors that the College will consider when offering a salary to an individual will include, but not be limited to: education, training, relevant prior experience, and performance in prior roles.
