The IT Systems Administrator will support the Department of Education to ensure adequate resources are available to meet the customers' requirements for systems administration, test, and development infrastructure, monitoring system performance as well as cybersecurity as it relates to risk management framework, assessment, and authorization, systems and applications, and documentation formulation. Responsibilities Lead the effort to ensure operating system scans and vulnerability tracking documentation will be coordinated and resolved. Responsible for system imaging, system patching, backup and restore, and configuration management tools. Responsible for systems administration, test and development infrastructure, and monitoring system performance to ensure adequate resources, including hardware, software, and communications, are available to meet customers' requirements. Responsible for cybersecurity hygiene, Risk Management Framework (RMF), Assessment and Authorization (A&A), system and applications hardening, and documentation formulation. Coordinate infrastructure tools and techniques and project management, including requirements gathering and project formulation. Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows-based computer systems on a complex data network. Apply advanced principles and practices of IT and project management, industry standards, and advanced technical concepts. Utilize server hardware and software, on-premises and cloud, including various server operating systems and server applications, methodologies for specification, installation, configuration, analysis, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and documentation of server systems. Apply principles and operating procedures for directories, policies, permissions, and user account administration. Apply backup and recovery strategies and reporting. Perform technical and thought-leadership responsibilities for multiple information security disciplines, like incident response, vulnerability management, intrusion detection and prevention, threat hunting, security operations, security policy, and awareness and education. Support, maintain, monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance security infrastructure tools, methodologies, software, and hardware. Draft and review information security policies, processes, and procedures. Oversee information security incident response activities, risk assessment and risk management activities, and vulnerability assessment and vulnerability management activities. Manage detailed network, operating system, database, and application vulnerability assessments and security configuration audits. Manage information security initiatives. Prepare information security awareness and education materials and other documentation. Determine and document information security requirements and controls necessary for the protection of information resources. Provide guidance and assistance regarding information security matters, like the interpretation of information security policies and requirements or their applicability to situations. Analyze data from information security functions and provide reports and recommended response actions to the Information Security Manager (ISM\ISSO). Publish regular status reports and submit them to management. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field and 6+ years of experience in which 4+ years of experience are specialized in Cloud computing, Windows Administration, and Cyber Security OR High school diploma or GED and 10+ years of this experience can be used in lieu of a degree Experience with IT Compliance and Risk Management Methodologies

• Cyber Security Framework, NIST Standards (SP 800-53r5), HIPPA, and FISMA Background check required with the ability to obtain a public trust
