As an ITS Support Engineer you'll be the go-to expert for Amazon's corporate offices nationwide, providing essential and exceptional on-site infrastructure support to ensure productivity is uninterrupted. Amazon's ITS Support Engineers are committed, dependable and customer focused, owning the overall IT experience ensuring our corporate offices and employees have reliable and secure technology. ITS Support Engineers have an advanced understanding of IT infrastructure technologies and devices deployed throughout Amazon. They maintain a high degree of technical aptitude over a large scope of IT software, hardware and networking disciplines. Working independently or collaborating with partner teams, vendors and contractors, they manage projects while maintaining a high level of productivity to meet goals. Quickly adapting to new processes and procedures, they act as a mentor and main partner for escalations within the team. Your day will be filled with exciting challenges and opportunities to showcase your technical expertise. You'll collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams to solve and manage network related events. You'll be a trusted advisor, a problem-solver, taking initiative to diagnose and troubleshoot cabling infrastructure and connectivity issues ensuring successful solutions. Our Engineers guide and empower both technical and non-technical Amazonians to rapidly implement workarounds, unblocking issues, so our employees maintain productivity. Key job responsibilities Partner closely with our Network Engineering and Network Technical Project Manager teams to drive efficient, seamless implementation of new designs and products through workflows Collaborate with various stake holders and vendors to lead, execute and deliver infrastructure projects Leverage technology, automating and eliminating time-consuming manual activities to improve overall operational efficiency Participate in hiring efforts, training and developing peers and new team members as a mentor, seeking and leveraging diverse perspectives in all activities Troubleshoot cabling infrastructure and connectivity issues using best practices and methodologies Provide on-call support for high severity incidents and act as an escalation point of contact for the team Continuously expand skills, learning the latest technologies and maintaining knowledge of IT policies to provide technically accurate solutions Travel between buildings in the local area as required A day in the life If you are not sure that every qualification on the list above describes you exactly, we'd still love to hear from you! - High school or equivalent diploma
- 2+ years of networking (such as
DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI
Model, and TCP/IP) experience- 2+ years of troubleshooting in a multi-user high availability environment experience
- 2+ years of PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment and liquidation experience
- 2+ years of IT client, server, and network service delivery experience
- Excellent customer facing skills
- Occasional travel required based on needs of the business
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with networking technology (TCP/IP, subnetting, DNS and DHCP)
- Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science or equivalent
- Ability to write simple scripts in an administrative language
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving abilities
