DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification to perform comprehensive maintenance and repairs on Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government's diverse fleet of heavy equipment, motor vehicles, and related systems.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent Two (2) years of related experience Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs scheduled preventative maintenance as needed to maintain optimum performance Perform safety inspections Diagnoses and repairs all performance deficiencies Fabricates parts and components as needed to make repairs Purchases and maintains inventory of parts and supplies Maintains records of work performed Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Valid Kentucky Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - Class B must be obtained within the first six (6) months of employment and maintain the CDL as a condition of continued employment One (1) ASE certification from the list approved by Fleet Services (see addendum) must be obtained within the first six (6) months of employment condition of continued employment
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16 Must furnish own tools Must be accessible for on-call duty and ability to work weekends, holidays and emergencies as assigned
