Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one or more years related lending or ag experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience Spanish bi-lingual capabilities are a plus. Summary/Objective The Ag Loan Officer position is responsible for developing and maintaining profitable agricultural banking relationships. Solicit new business relationships as well as expanding and retaining existing customer relationships. Sell, promote, deliver and support all products and services in addition to agricultural lending products to new and existing customers. Support the agricultural service to customers including application interviewing and loan closing. Attend sales and product knowledge training and promotional meetings offered in order to keep current on all issues. Maintain knowledge of bank and retail lending policies, procedures and regulations that impact areas of responsibility. Represents bank in various civic and community functions to further enhance its image and develop additional business. Compliance with Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and
USA PATRIOT
Act including Customer Identification Program, customer due diligence-beneficial ownership, identifying high risk accounts, reporting suspicious activities to Supervisor or BSA Department. Must be able to pay attention to details while performing multiple tasks simultaneously for periods of 2 hours or longer. Must show up to work regularly without excessive absences. Must possess strong interpersonal skills when interacting with internal and external customers. Must have fluency in English for effective job performance. Must be able to speak clearly, distinctly and be understood by co-workers and customers. Bi-lingual is a plus but not necessary. Must be able to demonstrate strong computer skills including MS applications, loan software, etc. Handwriting must be legible and in standard bank-specified format for clear reading by scanners and software. Writing skills must include the ability to spell correctly and use proper grammar and punctuation. This includes both e-mail and formal letters. Must be able to learn procedures within a bank-specified timeline and follow them accurately and consistently according to bank standards. Must be able to learn new duties and procedures and implement them into work habits within bank-specified timelines. Must be able to communicate to co-workers and customers concisely to answer questions, explain nuances of transactions, clarify new procedures, and ask questions for clarification. Must be able to hear and understand customer requests. Must be able to read accurately and retain information that was read and apply it. Must be able to lift and carry 20 pounds. Must be able to stand or sit for long periods (4 hours or more). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Work Environment This job operates in a clerical office setting for part of the time and out at the farm part of the time. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Full time position Remote Work Availability Eligible for remote work (work from home), however, attendance in workplace setting at least 80% of the time is required. Attendance is required for in-person scheduled meetings (at the discretion of the supervisor/manager) . Classification Exempt Travel Limited travel from bank location to another bank location required from time-to-time. Many customers are serviced at their farm which requires numerous trips in any given month.
