General Purpose of the Position The Indirect Funding Specialist will play a pivotal role in managing and facilitating the funding process for indirect loans and transactions. This position is responsible for ensuring all underwriting stipulations are cleared, funding requests are processed accurately, and compliance standards are met. The specialist will also be involved in fraud mitigation efforts, performing spot checks on AI-generated data to maintain data integrity and identify potential issues.. Processes transactions to disperse funds appropriately and within timeframes established by regulations. Performs clerical support duties for the Loan Administration department. Responsible for providing superior service to internal and external members and promoting member relationships that exceed expectations. Assists or refers members as necessary.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(includes the following). May perform other duties as requested or assigned. Maintain service level expectations for member experience Facilitates the clearing of all underwriting stipulations by working with third party vendors and members. Monitor and assess funding transactions for potential fraud risks. Analyze transaction data and user behavior patterns to identify suspicious activities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement strategies for detecting and preventing fraudulent activities. Investigate and resolve flagged fraud cases by reviewing historical data, transaction details, and supporting documentation. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and fraud prevention best practices. Communicating with members and dealer partners by phone and in writing. Work with other departments (e.g., finance, compliance, customer support) to address fraud-related concerns and improve overall security measures. Ensures closing packages are complete, accurate, and compliant Adhere to audit requirements maintaining expected service levels. Reviews documentation to ensure fees are correct on closing documents. Conduct regular audits of AI-driven data points to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability. Review flagged or outlier data to identify potential errors or discrepancies in the system's predictions. Works on all incoming indirect loan funding packets. Maintains dealer relationship for funding indirect loans Review dealer closing package ensuring accurate rate and creates Rate Adjustment Disclosure when necessary Researches and resolves internal and external member issues in a timely, consistent and professional manner. Consistently meets daily department demands and promotes member satisfaction, retention, and expansion. Maintains accurate reporting, appropriate tracking and measurement of department activity and results Understands regulatory requirements including fee tolerance and applicability of right to cancel. Maintains and updates knowledge of documentation and lien perfection requirements and policies including investor requirements. Prepares miscellaneous correspondence and records. Performs miscellaneous clerical functions. Researches and reconciles general ledger funding discrepancies in partnership with Accounting. Coordinates functions with related departments and branches and provides support as needed Stays informed regarding developments and changes in the credit field including best practices. Attends and participates in meetings as required. Prepares and completes special presentations or projects as assigned. Ensures that requests and questions are promptly and courteously resolved. Ensures that the Credit Union's professional reputation is maintained. Represents the Credit Union in contacts with business and trade professionals. Notifies necessary parties of Credit Union policies and procedures and ensures that they are appropriately informed. Provides excellent service by demonstrating courtesy and personal concern for members and co-workers needs and follows-up to ensure those needs are met. Adhere to all Federal and State laws and regulations applicable to the credit union, including the Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC. May be required to comply with NCUA requirements and register as a Mortgage Loan Originator and keep a current registration in compliance with the SAFE Act. Responsible for compliance with the Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act (FACTA), the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) SCRA, MLA, and the Anti Money Laundering Act, including monitoring for such illegal activity as it applies to this position. RequirementsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), plus two years of recent member service experience required. Mortgage closing and documentation experience strongly preferred. Mortgage application and processing experience preferred.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to explain loan programs, loan terms, features, policies and benefits to members and business partners. Good organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work a flexible work schedule Monday through Saturday from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. Typing and data entry. 10-key calculator. Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; Symitar systems a plus. Thorough knowledge of Credit Union services and products. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other administrative officials and the public. Ability to apply interpersonal skills that develop member confidence, respect and trust in Credit Union of Colorado and develop cooperative relationships with all levels of people throughout the organization.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
