Instrumentation & Control Technician II Hourly Starting Salary Range :
$28.46 to $35.86 (DOQ)
Direct Supervisor:
Maintenance Manager Normal Work Hours:
Day Shift 7:00am to 3:30pm, M-F, with some overtime required.
Position Function:
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager and working as part of a team, performs assigned duties necessary to install, maintain, revise and repair electronic, control and instrumentation equipment related to water and wastewater treatment facilities; including Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Wireless Electronic Communication Equipment and Facility Security and Surveillance Systems.
Typical/Essential Duties:
Performs repairs on electronic and electrical operating systems, instrumentation equipment and performs calibration tasks related to all water and wastewater treatment facilities. Document fully all assigned work orders when completed. Assists the Senior Electronics Technician in reviewing construction project plans for the purpose of identifying potential problems or conflicts with existing or proposed SCADA system and all process control functions and assists with preparing recommendations to resolve any such problems or conflicts. Assists the IT Department with installation and maintenance of the Districts security CCTV and gate entry systems. Assist the Process Control Analyst (PCA) with programming help for new or existing SCADA HMI, field PLC and wireless network communications. Performs additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications / Experience High School Diploma or GED is required. Three (3) to five (5) years of job-related experience is required. Three (3) years of experience performing maintenance and repair of process control instrumentation or working with water and wastewater treatment control and operating systems is preferred. Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, desktop applications and networking fundamentals. Working knowledge of HMI software (Wonderware) and programming of PLCs using Microsoft, Concept or Unity software is desired. Must have the ability to read, analyze and understand related technical manuals, schematics, and construction plan documents. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
Physical Requirements:
