Position Summary:

Eastland County Wildfire Defense is accepting applications for a Full-Time Equipment Operator Foreman position. CDL License is required. Experience operating heavy equipment is preferred.

Required Skills:

Ability to perform duties on uneven terrain and in weather extremes. Ability to climb, reach, bend, sit, walk, and grasp along with other functions to safely and properly operate all assigned tools and equipment. Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language for the purpose of understanding and communicating all safety procedures, expectations, and safety policies and to actively participate in safety meetings and pre-work briefings. Ability to properly wear and/or use all safety devices of all vehicles and equipment utilized. Ability to safely lift 80 lbs. Ability to properly secure and transport large, motorized equipment. Must be able to follow directions and work with others to safely complete all assignments. Must maintain a valid Texas Commercial Driver's License and maintain an insurable driving record. Must be able to direct, guide, and evaluate the work of crew members. Must be able to promote safe work practices.

Other Requirements:

Employees must provide for their transportation to and from work location.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED.

Knowledge:

Working knowledge of CDL regulations related to the transport of large equipment on public roadways.

Preferred Experience:

One year operating large, motorized equipment such as tractors, dump trucks, front end loaders. One year legally operating transport vehicles and trailering equipment under CDL regulations. One year properly securing trailered equipment

Work Schedule:

40 hours per week over 5 days or 4 days each week. Schedule may change due to seasonal weather conditions. Employees must be able to adopt to changes in work schedule to reach departmental goals.
