Description The CNC Lathe Machinist will prepare and implement setups for CNC lathes, prove out setups and CNC programs at work centers, and monitor quality to ensure adherence to blueprint specifications. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work hands-on at CNC machine centers.Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and implement setups for CNC lathes. Prove out setups and CNC programs at work centers. Monitor quality and adjust offsets in machines to hold tolerances per blueprint specifications during production. Inspect finished workpieces to determine conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as gauges and micrometers. Observe machine operations to detect any problems and make necessary adjustments to correct issues. High level of understanding and usage of G-code and M-codes, with the ability to follow and interpret the logical flow of CNC program files. High level of ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and sketches. Knowledge of MasterCAM and AutoCAD is a plus. Comfortable working with tight tolerances. Hands-on experience at CNC machine centers to address problems and implement new or existing processes. Familiarity with Fanuc controls; experience with DMG Mori/Mori Seiki is a plus. Strong communication skills. Excellent troubleshooting, problem analysis, and resolution skills. Professional attitude and demeanor. Willingness to take on additional duties as needed.
