Operations Specialist Vast Long Beach, CA At Vast, our mission is to contribute to a future where billions of people are living and thriving in space. We are building artificial gravity space stations, allowing long-term stays in space without the adverse effects of zero-gravity. Our initial crewed space habitat will be Haven-1, scheduled to be the world's first commercial space station when it launches into low earth orbit in August 2025. Vast is looking for an Operations Specialist, reporting to the Operations Manager to support the operations of the factory that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach offices. This position will enable employees to be productive and excited about their experience at work.
Responsibilities:
Assist in all aspects of organizing and moving equipment and supplies Obtain bids from contractors for additional support Evaluate and coordinate offsite storage of excess equipment and supplies Assemble furniture and ensure employees have seats for onboarding Review plans and drawings to ensure understanding of layouts Answer questions regarding the scope and/or timing of the project Ordering & stocking of supplies as needed Event set-up and coordination Various miscellaneous tasks that will assist in the day to day general operations of the companyMinimum Qualifications:
High school diplomaPreferred Skills & Experience:
Experience with facilities within an aerospace industry Familiar with space planning procedures and operations Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to easily navigate through different computer software programs Ability to work effectively in a team environment Ability to make independent judgments with limited information Communication skills for relaying data (verbally and in-writing) between other employees, vendors, and customers Logical and strategic approach to solving problems Comfortable working in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time, and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction.Additional Requirements:
Willingness to work overtime, or weekends to support critical mission milestones Ability to lift up to 40lbs unassistedPay Range:
Operation Specialist II:
$29 - $41/per hourOperation Specialist III:
