The Clinical Trials Research Charging (CTRC) Quality Expert will support the daily operations of the CTRC team. This includes understanding facility and professional processes to review charges and determine if they should be billed to the research study or patient's insurance. Independent research to resolve and provide recommendations based on requests received from the service line contact and/or customer. The ability to be flexible to work on projects and initiatives that require critical thinking and problem solving skills. This position is a Hybrid schedule - combination of work from home and in office at Shadeland Must have: Knowledgeable in the use and application of Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS), and revenue codes Detail-oriented, with proven ability to effectively manage time, see tasks and projects through to completion, organize competing priorities and effectively address complex, urgent issues as they arise Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively on complex projects in a team environment with staff from a wide variety of business and clinical areas Proficient with Microsoft tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) Experience in Revenue Cycle, specifically in Charge Management or Charge Integrity, is preferred but not required Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) preferred. Other allied health certification and/or specialized degree Requires High School Diploma. Associate or Bachelor Degree in related field preferred. Requires proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Visio & Access). Requires 3+ years? experience in revenue cycle operations in various positions related to the position. Requires a high level of interpersonal, problem solving, and analytic skills. Requires effective written and verbal communication skills in both individual and group settings to ensure professional correspondence and presentation to all levels of individuals within the organization (operational team members, leadership ? internal and external to Revenue Cycle, and other external individuals/groups). Requires the ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with others. Requires ability to set and adjust defined priorities as necessary and to process multiple tasks at once. Requires strong attention to detail, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
