Program Overview Technical SETA support for MPO intel analysis and data processing, tool modernization, high performance computing (HPC) and analytic systems engineering. About The Role Peraton is hiring an experienced Software Engineer (SWE) to support the government's Processing and Analytic Capabilities Office initiatives related to their High Performance Computing (HPC) program. These programs are cutting edge and include everything from HPC test planning and execution, architecture design and prototyping, and vendor outreach and collaboration support. The SWE will support work across teams to write or enable queries for specialized metrics collection products and ensure that system performance is maintained. As a result the candidate must have leadership skills and/or experience with leading an effort, and be communicative, collaborative, and organized. The ideal candidate should be able to: work independently, as well as with a team, to ensure that all components are functioning properly; must be willing to stay abreast of latest industry trends in both open source and commercial metrics and monitoring solutions; be capable of supporting determination of if-and-when to incorporate them into an IaC solution; and be willing to and able to learn new tools and protocols.
Qualifications Required Qualifications :
Position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. Required Education / Experience requirements. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus ten (10) years of software engineering experience, OR High School Diploma or GED plus fourteen (14) years of software engineering experience. To be selected, the SWE must have the following experience and skills: Software architecture and design planning DevOps or sustainment/life-cycle management of system-operational software or services Telemetry data Implementing and documenting dataflow or system-telemetry pipeline Dara movement and volume estimations Linux, Linux tools, Bash scripting Programming in Python Familiar with and able to perform full software-development lifecycle support with version-control tools (Git, GitLab)
Desired Qualifications :
The following skills/experience, while not required, are strongly preferred and will increase a candidate's odds of selection: Splunk, Elastic, syslog-ng, ryslog, Kafka, Logstash, and/or Ansible Message brokers and data movement tools Data analysis Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Intern Rate or Range Details Target Salary Range:
$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
